A postdoctoral IRTA position is available in the Molecular Pathogenesis Unit within the Laboratory of Virology at the RML campus of NIAID in Hamilton, Montana. The newly formed Molecular Pathogenesis Unit aims to combine pathogenesis studies with detailed molecular analyses to identify molecular determinants of severe respiratory tract disease within the virus and the host.
The successful applicant will be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on understanding the pathogenesis of emerging respiratory virus infections, such as Nipah virus, SARS-CoV2, and influenza A virus.
Requirements
Highly motivated candidates with a strong background in molecular biology, infectious disease animal modeling, genomics, computational biology, or histopathology are encouraged to apply. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., D.V.M., or M.D. in virology, molecular biology, or other appropriate discipline and have less than three years of postdoctoral experience.
