Immunodeficiencies Associated With Severe Virus Infections

A postdoctoral position is available in the Medical Virology Section, Laboratory of Infectious Diseases, to study clinical specimens from patients with severe virus infections, particularly herpesviruses, and identify novel cellular genes or defects in cellular signaling pathways responsible for these infections. The section has an active clinical program focused on evaluation and treatment of patients with severe virus infections, and the bench research is translational and complements the clinical research.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. with an interest in immunodeficiencies and a strong background in cellular immunology and molecular biology, as well as some experience in virology. Candidates should have a publication record in peer-reviewed journals. The candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work well both independently and with others on a team.
