CDC launches studies to get more precise count of undetected Covid-19 cases

Here's more from the CDC: The agency shared over the weekend that it had begun studies to try and estimate how many people in the U.S. had been infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind Covid-19. The three studies are part of new ramped-up surveillance that the agency is implementing to be better prepped for future Covid-19 activity. The first study is already underway and is looking at how widely the virus is circulating by taking blood samples from people from around the country who have not received a Covid-19 diagnosis. The CDC will also be using samples collected from around the U.S. to conduct a national survey, while a third study will look at how select populations such as health care workers were affected by Covid-19. As of this morning, more than 336,000 people in the U.S. had been diagnosed with Covid-19 and 9,655 had died.
