Virtual CMS ITU Outreach and Education Trainings The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is committed to helping the Indian Health Service (IHS), tribal clinics, and urban Indian health programs (ITUs) maximize their ability to access third-party resources. To meet this objective, CMS holds face-to-face trainings for third-party business office staff, in partnership with the state Medicaid agencies, Medicare, the Social Security Administration, and IHS. Due to travel and training restrictions issued as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have postponed our ITU trainings through June 2020 and will hold a series of virtual ITU webinars.

CMS NACs provide technical assistance to ITUs with CMS programs and benefits. Join this webinar to meet your NAC and learn who to contact for your CMS questions.

Medicare 101 Date: April 30, 2020 Time: 2 p.m. eastern Register: Medicare 101 Learn about the Medicare administration, eligibility, covered services, and reimbursement for ITU staff and beneficiaries with a focus on specific provisions for American Indian and Alaska Natives.

Medicaid 101 Date: May 14, 2020 Time: 2 p.m. eastern Register: Medicaid 101 Learn about Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Topics will include administration, eligibility, covered services, and reimbursement for Indian health care providers. The webinar will highlight specific provisions for American Indians and Alaska Natives, including the Medicaid cost-sharing protections, Medicaid estate recovery, managed care, and an overview of state-tribal consultation requirements.

Social Security and Disability Benefits Date: May 28, 2020 Time: 2 p.m. eastern Register: Social Security and Disability Benefits Learn about Social Security and disability benefits. A Social Services Administration (SSA) representative will be available to answer questions.
