If Joe Biden — who will accept the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination tonight — wins in November, he'll become the first president to inherit a pandemic. Biden has made it clear that his approach will mark a dramatic shift to the current administration's response. In a new special report, STAT's Lev Facher lays out what those plans might look like, including a dramatic ramp-up of testing efforts and daily briefings led by scientists and public health experts. “A really great thing about working with this campaign, from my perspective, is that it’s really been the A-team,” Nicole Lurie, a pandemic response expert in the Obama administration, tells Lev.
