AHRQ Launches Training Network To Prevent COVID-19 in Nursing Homes
Emerging efforts to prevent COVID-19 in nursing homes via the new AHRQ ECHO National Nursing Home COVID-19 Action Network are highlighted in a new AHRQ Views blog post by Director Gopal Khanna, M.B.A., and Deputy Director David Meyers, M.D. The network, developed in partnership with the University of New Mexico’s ECHO Institute and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, will make free training and mentoring available to the more than 15,000 nursing homes nationwide to help prevent COVID-19 among residents and staff. Training will include best practices in the use of personal protective equipment; infection control; COVID-19 testing and clinical management of asymptomatic and mild cases of COVID-19.
