Hospital Preparedness Webinar with the Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals. The Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals is hosting a webinar, Hospital Legal Preparedness: Understanding the Role of the Law When Hospitals Face Emergencies, on December 8, 2015, at 1:00 pm (EST). The webinar will outline general principles of effective quality assurance and performance improvement for legal preparedness for hospitals. It will describe legal preparedness, demonstrate how preparing for emergencies can affect liability, and illustrate the necessary components of a defensible hospital emergency management program.

PHLP’s Menus of Vaccine Laws. Healthcare facilities across the country are increasingly requiring both healthcare workers and patients to be vaccinated for certain diseases in an effort to reduce outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases. In some instances, facilities are establishing these requirements due to mandates in state statutes and regulations.
