Three simple rules to improve medication safety.

Safety improvement strategies can range in difficulty from simple to complex. This commentary reviews a three-step approach to improving medication safety that focuses on clinical effectiveness, the safety of the medication, and commitment to the therapeutic plan. However, the author recognizes that limited clinician time can hinder the use of these steps.
