In a new analysis, CDC researchers estimate that chronic pain affects approximately 50 million U.S. adults, and high-impact chronic pain affects approximately 20 million U.S. adults. Chronic pain has been linked to restrictions in mobility and daily activities, dependence on opioids, anxiety and depression, and poor quality of life.
