Keep your Super Bowl snacks safe

If you're off to a Super Bowl watch party this weekend, remember to steer clear of stale snacks that are no longer safe to eat. Cooked food hits the “danger zone” — when bacteria that can make you sick start to grow — when it's left out for too long at room temperature, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. And it's just as important to keep cold food cold. If your sour cream and onion dip has been sitting out and is warmer than fridge temperature, you might want to toss it in the trash.
