A lone congressional Republican takes on pricing
On Captiol Hill, Democrats have been more aggressive in their fight to tame drug prices than some of their Republican colleagues. But that's not universally true. As STAT’s Lev Facher writes, take the example of Rep. Francis Rooney — a GOP congressman from Florida who is cosponsoring a bill that will allow Medicare to negotiate prices.
He even introduced a separate bill that was very much in line with a Bernie Sanders proposal to cap U.S. drug payments based on their cost overseas.
