Hong Kong considers e-cigarette sales ban
Hong Kong legislators are pushing forward with a proposed measure that would ban the manufacturing or sale of e-cigarettes. Lawmakers are holding their first hearing today on the proposal, which Hong Kong health officials hope will stem the popularity of e-cigarettes. Under the draft law, people caught selling vaping products could face a steep fine and up to six months in jail. Hong Kong’s government wouldn’t be the first to outlaw e-cigarettes — dozens of other governments, including Brazil and Thailand, have banned vape sales.
