Inside STAT: Looking to boost biotech, foreign governments set up shop in Boston
Foreign governments are increasingly trying to find ways to import some of the magic of Kendall Square, Boston’s biotech hub, back to their countries. Countries ranging from Denmark to Japan have opened incubators and offices in Cambridge, hoping to encourage biotech companies from their countries to take advantage of the area. Boston's research infrastructure, investment community, and support for entrepreneurs make it “the number one place in the world to grow your life science company,” says Christine Sarkisian, Canada’s trade commissioner for life sciences business development in Boston.
