New Quality Payment Program Payment Adjustment Resource Now Available on QPP Resource Library

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted a new Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) resource to the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Resource Library to answer questions and provide additional resources on 2019 payment adjustments.
In July 2018, each MIPS eligible clinician received a 2017 MIPS final score and associated payment adjustment factor(s) as part of their 2017 MIPS performance feedback, available on the QPP website. The new resource addresses frequently asked questions about the application of payment adjustments, which began January 1, 2019. Topics covered include:
  • Services subject to the 2019 MIPS payment adjustment
  • Changes made to remittance advice documents to reflect 2019 MIPS payment adjustments
  • Impact that claim assignments have on 2019 MIPS payment adjustments
  • Correction of the inclusion of Medicare Part B Drugs and certain items and services in the 2019 MIPS Payment Adjustment
The document also provides links to additional resources related to MIPS payment adjustments:

Webinar Details
Title: Eligible Clinician New eCQMs Finalized for 2019
Date: Monday, March 11, 2019
Time: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. ET
This one-hour session will provide an in-depth review of the following new electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) finalized for the 2019 performance period: HIV Screening (CMS349) and Appropriate Use of DXA Scans in Women Under 65 Years Who Do Not Meet the Risk Factor Profile for Osteoporotic Fracture (CMS249). CMS has transitioned the logic used in eCQMs from the previous quality data model (QDM) logic expression language to Clinical Quality Language (CQL) for the 2019 performance year. This session will provide an introduction to the new eCQMs finalized for 2019 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Quality performance year. As a result of the feedback received from stakeholders interviewed through the CMS eCQM Strategy Project to reduce implementation and reporting burdens, this session is intended to prepare eligible clinicians, vendors, quality, and health information technology staff for eCQM reporting, and is the last in a series of five educational sessions to provide relevant information to support successful understanding, interpretation, and implementation of eCQMs.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  • Become familiar with the specifications for new eCQMs for the MIPS 2019 performance year
  • Understand the intent of each of these new measures
  • Address the anticipated questions and answers for each eCQM and how to follow ongoing information about each measure
Space is limited for this webinar. Registration will close when we have reached maximum capacity. This webinar will be recorded. If you are unable to participate, a replay of the webinar with presentation slides will be available on the eCQI Resource Center website within 2 weeks following the program.
