Number of the week
You may recall that California last year passed a first-of-its-kind gender parity law with two key parts: By the end of 2019, the state’s publicly traded companies must have at least one woman on their board. And by the end of 2021, all of those boards must meet a certain gender ratio depending on their size.
With Massachusetts and New Jersey now considering similar legislation, Bloomberg ran an analysis of what would have to change if California's law was adopted nationwide. The striking finding: 769 women would be needed to join the boards of health care companies by the end of 2021.
