DEA Practitioner Diversion Awareness Conferences May 5 & 6, 2019 in Norman, OK (with AMA PRA Category 1 CE credits) – Drug Information Update

Practitioner Diversion Awareness Conference
May 5 & 6, 2019
Norman, OK

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be hosting two regional one-day Practitioner Diversion Awareness Conferences (PDAC) on Sunday, May 5, and Monday, May 6, 2019. The same conference will be held both days. Participants can attend either day. The conferences will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Norman Hotel & Conference Center, 2501 Conference Drive, Norman, OK 73069.

The diversion of pharmaceutical controlled substances throughout the United States is a growing problem. This diversion stems from various sources. In addition to pharmacy robberies and thefts, pharmaceutical controlled substances are often diverted by way of forged prescriptions, doctor shoppers, or illegitimate prescriptions from rogue practitioners. The PDAC is designed to assist DEA registered Practitioners (e.g. doctors, veterinarians, dentists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners) in identifying and preventing diversion activity. See Agenda for details.

Each one-day conference will be held in the Oklahoma F, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. You must check in with DEA personnel before the start of the conference. Conference check-in will be from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. each day outside of the ballroom.

NOTE: You must be a DEA registered Practitioner (e.g. doctor, veterinarian, dentist, physician assistant, and/or nurse practitioner) in the state of Oklahoma in order to attend this conference.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Federation State Medical Boards and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. The Federation of State Medical Boards is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Federation of State Medical Boards designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Seating is limited at these conferences and it is recommended you register as early as possible.
