CMS Issues Manufacturer Release #111 Regarding Authorized Generic Drugs

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued Manufacturer Release #111 on October 17, 2017. This Manufacturer Release is an alert to manufacturers about the changes they will need to make to the calculation of their average manufacturer prices (AMP) in accordance with the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2020, and Health Extenders Act of 2019.  Impacted manufacturers will need to exclude authorized generic drug sales from the calculation of their AMP for purposes of the Medicaid drug rebate program beginning October 1, 2019.  Manufacturer and State Releases can be found at the following link on Medicaid.gov: https://www.medicaid.gov/medicaid/prescription-drugs/program-releases/index.html
