Health Affairs looks at violence's impact on health

A new issue of Health Affairs is out, with a focus on the connection between violence and health. Papers look at such issues as federal funding for gun violence research, intimate partner violence, and the problems with the perception of violence inflicted by people with mental illnesses. In introducing the issue, Health Affairs editor-in-chief Alan Weil reflects on how “violence permeates our society.” He adds: “Even as media attention tends to focus on incidents of mass violence, it is the daily burden of violence in its many forms that takes the greater toll.” You can see the full issue here.
