Follow the Health Equity Sessions and Watch Who Wins the CMS Health Equity Award

This year’s CMS Quality Conference, in Baltimore from February 25 – 27, features health equity sessions and the presentation of the CMS Health Equity Award.

Be sure to check out:

• CMS Health Equity Awards:  On Thursday 2/27 we’ll present the 2020 CMS Health Equity Award. We’re so proud to recognize 2 organizations that show outstanding results in reducing disparities and closing gaps in care among those they serve. Come find out who they are!   
• Technical assistance from the CMS Office of Minority Health (CMS OMH): Find us outside the main ballroom (near the registration desk) throughout the conference where we’ll offer in-person health equity technical assistance and talk about how you can reduce disparities among those you serve. Spread the word, and stop by to learn how your program can identify, track, and act on disparities.  We’ll be there to:
• Answer questions
• Share our interactive data and web-based tools
• Talk about community outreach and Disparities Impact Statements
• Help you learn what you can do after the conference.
• Health Equity sessions: Several sessions will look at health equity and population health, covering topics like:
  • Rural health
  • Community and provider engagement among vulnerable populations
  • Increased physical and language access for people with disabilities
  • Social determinants of health
  • Managing chronic kidney disease
  • How to measurably reduce disparities among populations you serve 
• Rethinking Rural Health session: Learn about rural health successes and how we consider rural health in new and ongoing activities.
• How you can join the conversation: Follow CMS OMH with our #Path2Equity posts and see live tweets with the conference hashtag, #CMSQualCon20. Also, follow @CMSGov!

If you can’t be at the 2020 CMS Quality Conference, this year’s morning plenary sessions will be live-streamed from the conference website.  And, on Thursday, you can watch the Health Equity Award presentation.
