Despite ample evidence to support the need for personal protective equipment for all health care workers, a 2019 National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine report suggests that a sizable number of health care workers may be inadequately protected from airborne transmissible diseases. This resource reviews findings from that report, and proposes four strategies to protect health care workers from airborne transmissible diseases. (Text)
