An updated guide to the coronavirus vaccines and drugs in progress

As the coronavirus pandemic has snowballed from a regional worry to a worldwide threat, drug makers have been racing to catch up, testing both existing compounds and more cutting-edge approaches to see if they can combat the virus.

STAT’s Damian Garde has assembled a compendium of the treatments and vaccines being tested for Covid-19. On the docket is Gilead’s remdesivir, which is in Phase 3 trials. But many more drug makers are testing their products against the novel coronavirus, including China’s Ascletis Pharma, Arcturus Therapeutics, BioNTech, Eli Lilly, and many others.
