Inside STAT: Data deals between hospitals and tech platforms leave patients in the dark
The nation’s largest hospital systems are rapidly shifting sensitive health data into cloud storage platforms, and a growing number are reaching confidential data-sharing deals that leave patients in the dark about how their information will be used and protected, according to a new STAT investigation. The investigation found that there were no uniform standards in the arrangements for preventing the misuse of personal information.
