Secondhand Smoke Contributed To Nearly 1.7M Deaths Globally In 2023
According to a study published Tuesday, of the 8 million people who died in 2023 of smoking-related illnesses, almost 1.7 million were from secondhand exposure. The study stressed that there is no safe level of smoke inhalation, and that tobacco is a leading cause of disease globally.
