SAMHSA Announces up to $5 Million in Funding To Establish a Center of Excellence Related to Protected Health Information for Mental and Substance Use Disorders |
SAMHSA is accepting applications for funding to create a Center of Excellence for Protected Health Information Related to Mental and Substance Use Disorders(Short Title: CoE-PHI). The purpose of this program is to establish one national center of excellence to develop and disseminate training, technical assistance, and educational resources for health care providers, families, individuals, states, and communities on various privacy laws and regulations as they relate to behavioral health data. This includes the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and 42 CFR Part 2. SAMHSA plans to issue up to $5 million for the program, by funding one grantee up to $1 million per year, for up to 5 years. Domestic public and private nonprofit entities may apply. Applications must be received by August 17, 2018, by 11:59 p.m. eastern time to be considered for review. Learn More About the Funding |
