Novotek to showcase control and monitoring systems at the Water and Wastewater fair, Sweden

Expert to demonstrate digital transformation technology for water and wastewater facilities

Industrial IT and automation expert Novotek will be exhibiting at the Water and Wastewater fair, at the Elmia Exhibition and Conference Centre in Jönköping, Sweden from 25–27 September, 2018. Visitors are invited to meet with Novotek at stand B01.100 to find out about the company’s control and monitoring systems for water and wastewater facilities.

It’s reported that industry and energy production accounts for 40 per cent of the total water across Europe. With water managers consciously trying to reduce consumption and overcome water and wastewater infrastructure challenges like pipe leaks and network management issues, smart technologies like those offered by Novotek can be integrated to improve the effectiveness of operations in the sector.

Novotek has a wide portfolio of solutions for water and wastewater systems based on the iFIX SCADA system from GE Digital. Offering specialist features such as dialled communication between pump stations, pressure control stations and fresh water towers, Novotek also offers standard communication drivers from manufacturers Swedmeter, Flygt AquaCom and ABB OP45.

“The priority for many water and wastewater managers is to reliably record and store data, as well as communicate with a range of equipment and systems,” explained Håkan Bostrand, technical manager at Novotek. “At the fair, Novotek representatives will be demonstrating to visitors how the next generation of SCADA from GE has been created to accommodate the rise in internet of things (IoT) connected devices.

“Across water and wastewater facilities, managers need to integrate various systems including maintenance, lab systems and building management systems. At Novotek, we’ve made it possible for all these systems to be integrated into a SCADA system for easy use across platforms. This allows users to closely monitor operations accurately and in real-time from any device.

“In addition to this, the iFIX has been designed by GE to include encryption in compliance with EU and US regulations. This is to help managers protect any collected data being extracted by any unauthorized parties, in light of increased concerns with cybersecurity."
