CDC Externships in Public Health Law

CDC’s Public Health Law Program (PHLP) offers externships in public health law, tribal public health law, and public health administration and communications. The externships consist of 9–14 weeks of professional work experience with PHLP in Atlanta, Georgia. With rolling start and completion dates during the academic year, unpaid externships must qualify for academic credit as authorized by law and public health schools. Applications for summer 2019 positions are due by January 31, 2019.

Analysis of Express Legal Authorities for Mosquito Control in the United States, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico

This report presents findings from the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials’ 2017 analysis of legal authorities for mosquito control and offers a state-by-state look at the statutory provisions.

Advancing Team-Based Care through Collaborative Practice Agreements

This pharmacy education course, part of the Public Health Law Academy’s Legal Epidemiology Center, defines collaborative practice agreements (CPAs) and their role in providing team-based care. It also identifies resources available for pharmacists looking to establish a CPA. A free toolkit, Advancing Team-Based Care Through Collaborative Practice Agreements: A Resource and Implementation Guide for Adding Pharmacists to the Care Team, is also available as a supplementary aid to the training.

APHA Conference 2018

Registration is open for the American Public Health Association’s annual meeting and expo. Stop by the Public Health Law Academy booth to learn about public health law and meet PHLP and ChangeLab Solutions staff. The meeting will take place November 10–14, 2018, in San Diego, California
