The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Bringing Recovery Supports to Scale Technical Assistance Center Strategy (BRSS TACS) is pleased to announce the 2019 Capacity Building Opportunity, an intensive technical assistance (TA) opportunity for peer-run organizations, recovery community organizations, family-run organizations, and youth- and young adult-run organizations. The 2019 Capacity Building Opportunity contributes to SAMHSA’s mission to reduce the impact of substance misuse and mental illness on American communities. Applicants are encouraged to consider SAMHSA’s activities related to mental illness and substance abuse disorders in the Interdepartmental Serious Mental Illness Coordinating Committee and its report to Congress, the SAMHSA Strategic Plan FY2019–FY2023, and Facing Addiction in America: The Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs and Health. The 2019 BRSS TACS Capacity Building Opportunity will offer sustained, individualized consultation, training, and peer-to-peer support for up to 25 peer-run, recovery community, family-run, or youth and young adult-run organizations in one of the five designated focus areas.
