Arizona facility where patient was raped will remain open
The Arizona health facility where an incapacitated patient was raped and gave birth has reversed course on its decision to close its doors. Hacienda HealthCare announced on Thursday that it would close down, sparking criticism from state officials about the impact of the closure on patients. Now, the Phoenix facility says it'll stay open with increased oversight from the state health department. A former nurse at the facility was charged last month with sexual assault and vulnerable adult abuse last month after a DNA sample from him allegedly matched the baby's DNA.
