Providers, politicians, and hospital execs talk health technology
Doctors, politicians, and hospital execs are all convening in Orlando this week for HIMSS, the big annual conference of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. Tech giants and startups alike will share details about how their products — from algorithms to smart speakers and software — are being used in health care centers across the U.S. One big name at the conference: Seema Verma, the director of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Tomorrow morning, she'll take part in a keynote panel on the role of patient-friendly technology that makes it easier for people to be more informed about their care. STAT's Casey Ross is penning a pop-up newsletter with updates and interviews from the conference — sign up here.
