National Resource Center on Nutrition & Aging Webinars: Healthcare Policy and Practice Opportunities for Senior Nutrition Programs

Nutrition services have been shown to positively impact the physical, mental, and social well-being of older adults and adults with disabilities. Increasingly, these services are recognized as a key component of client-centered care.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently proposed a new category of benefits that would give Medicare Advantage plans the flexibility to provide non-medical health-related supplemental benefits (e.g., nutrition services). As providers of congregate and home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and related counseling, nutrition programs are positioned to take advantage of this opportunity.
This two-part webinar will address recent changes in the Medicare policy landscape. Gain insights from the experiences of an innovative senior nutrition program contracted to offer a menu of services to local managed care plan recipients.
