School Discipline Policies, 2008–2018

School discipline laws regulate the use of exclusionary discipline for students, such as expulsion and suspension from school. There has been a recent trend in the United States toward reevaluating expulsion and suspension policies. New legal data published in LawAtlas.org, in partnership with CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, traces nearly 11 years of state “zero tolerance” school discipline policies.
