Framing of clinical information affects physicians' diagnostic accuracy.

Cognitive biases are widely recognized as playing an important role in diagnostic error. Using hypothetical patient cases, researchers found that the way in which cases were presented had a significant impact on the differential diagnoses developed by participating providers, regardless of provider experience.
