The purpose of this rapid review is to help inform policy across the Department of Health and Human Services on the effectiveness of interventions to improve medications for addiction treatment (MAT) retention among opioid use disorder (OUD) patients. While evidence indicates that MAT programs are effective and save lives, they have low reported retention rates.
