Updated: v2019.0.1 ICD-10-CM/PCS - PSI SAS QI & WinQI Software

Updates Now Available: (1) v2019.0.1 ICD-10-CM/PCS PSI SAS QI & WinQI Software for AHRQ Quality Indicators and; (2) Empirical Methods Document

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) announces a minor release of the AHRQ Quality Indicators (QI) software version v2019.0.1 for SAS QI and WinQI  software  released in August  2019. This minor release updates three of the recently identified  software discrepancies.
 (1) Updates to AHRQ QI Software
  • Inconsistencies were identified between the PSI 90 Component weight in the technical specification document and what was implemented in AHRQ QI software programs (SAS QI and WinQI). The average change in PSI 90 rate was at the 4th decimal. Further investigation identified variances in smooth rate for PSI 03 (9th decimal, on average), PSI 04 risk-adjusted and smoothed rates (6th decimal, on average) and small variances in PSI 13. The updated v2019.1for SAS and WinQi fixes this minor discrepancy for the PSI module. This does not impact any other modules, such as, PQI, IQI, and PDI.
  • Update to the data export function in WinQI v2019. In the exported file (.csv, .xlsx, .json, .tfs), one of the columns, “Expected Rate” was missing the data. This issue is now fixed, and the calculated “Expected Rate” values is now correctly included in the exported file.
  • For some users, having v36 as the DRG version showed import related error. WinQI version v2019 supports DRG version v36 and this issue is now resolved in this release and importing input file with DRG version v36 works as expected.
(2) Release of Empirical Methods Document
The latest version, v2019 of the Empirical Methods document is now published and available on the website at: https://www.qualityindicators.ahrq.gov/Downloads/Resources/Publications/2019/Empirical_Methods_2019.pdf
The software is available for download at: https://www.qualityindicators.ahrq.gov/Software/
