FDA OMHHE Celebrates MLK Day

“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'”

Today, we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, in honor of what would have been Dr. King's ninety-first birthday this year. Dr. King was a crusader for civil and human rights, and he worked tirelessly to achieve equality for all people. Service to others is a key cornerstone of Dr. King’s legacy, so it is only fitting that MLK Day is a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

The FDA Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) was created with the purpose of reducing health disparities and advancing health equity. As we start this new year, FDA OMHHE remains committed to serving minority and underserved communities, and creating a world where health equity is a reality for all. We look forward to expanding our outreach initiatives, engaging the public, and seeking new opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders to help provide diverse communities with the information and tools they need to live their healthiest lives.
