CIB: New Extension of the Affordable Care Act’s Spousal Impoverishment Provision for Married Applicants and Recipients of Home and Community-Based Services

Today the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released an Informational Bulletin advising state Medicaid agencies that the recently enacted Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020 further extends spousal impoverishment rules HCBS through May 22, 2020.
