ACL’s COVID-19 Resources: What’s new
We are continuing to add guidance and resources for the aging and disability networks and the people we serve to our COVID-19 resource page.
One key update: We have added more details about who is at increased risk of serious illness from COVID-19, based on the latest information from CDC.
Many of the best resources are coming from our networks and partners – thank you! Things we have added in the last few days include:
- Resources for supporting caregivers from the Family Caregiver Alliance, ARCH Respite Network and Resource Center, Generations United, and the Caregiver Action Network.
- Strategies for supporting individuals with autism through difficult times from the National Professional Development Center on Autism Spectrum Disorder at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
- An emergency communication tool for people who do not use verbal communication from the Temple University Institute on Disabilities.
- Tips to help first responders support older adults and people with disabilities developed by the University of New Mexico Center for Development and Disability.
We also have added:
- Clarification on eligibility requirements for home-delivered meals through the Older Americans Act nutrition programs.
- More on avoiding and reporting scams and fraud, including new resources from the Senior Medicare Patrol Resource Center.
- Contact information for SAMHSA's Disaster Distress Helpline which provides 24/7 crisis counseling and support to people experiencing disaster-related emotional distress.
- Medicaid-specific telehealth information from Medicaid.gov.
Thank you to everyone who has shared resources and offered feedback on the page. As we continue to update our COVID-19 page, please let us know if you have additional suggestions!
