Inside the national stockpile (Or, as close as we can get without exposing state secrets)
Did you know the U.S. has 12 warehouses scattered around the country, filled with a stash of masks, medications, respirators and all the other essentials the country needs in the event of a pandemic? Even if you did, I recommend you check out my colleague Lev Facher’s latest deep dive into the Strategic National Stockpile.
Unfortunately the warehouses are in secret locations, so we couldn’t send Lev to the stockpile in person. But he did chat with the stockpile’s acting director, Steven Adams. They talked about potential shortages, leadership changes at the agency, and whether you can trust the expiration date for a mask.
Check out Lev’s story here.
