March 10th was National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. This year’s theme was “HIV Prevention Starts with Me: Ending the HIV Epidemic Together." This observance, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health, was an opportunity for communities and organizations across the United States to shed light on the impact of HIV on women and girls and support those at risk of and living with HIV.

Superior AIDS-Kaposi’s Sarcoma Treatment Improves Outcomes in Resource-Limited Settings
The cancer drug paclitaxel and a suppressive regimen of antiretroviral therapy (ART) is an effective treatment for AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma, according to researchers who conducted a clinical trial comparing three chemotherapy regimens in combination with ART in people with advanced AIDS-Kaposi’s sarcoma in Africa and South America.
