NIAID Small Business Workshop 2020
NIAID’s Small Business Program Office and North Carolina State University’s Office of Research and Innovation are hosting a small business workshop in Raleigh, North Carolina, on April 23rd and 24th.
This workshop is open to all SBIR/STTR stakeholders and any other innovators who are interested in starting new biomedical ventures.
The goal of this event is to prepare current and next-generation of biomedical entrepreneurs to compete in the SBIR/STTR programs administered by NIH. Attendees will learn potential opportunities and resources available for biomedical entrepreneurship and technology commercialization, in addition to receiving guidance needed to successfully develop a proposal, apply and manage NIH awards. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from federal staff, successful awardees, early stage investors and other industry experts!
The agenda includes the following:
- Overviews of the NIH, CDC, and NSF SBIR/STTR programs
- Introduction to NIAID’s mission and priorities for product development
- Specific programs administered by NIAID and other NIH institutes
- Application and review processes
- Federal technology transfer and intellectual property
- Effective SBIR/STTR grant proposal writing
- Panel discussions and one-on-one sessions
