Snapshot
Summary

As part of its Setting the Standard for Professional Behavior initiative, embedded within the organization's patient safety program, Catholic Healthcare Partners developed a multipronged approach to addressing disruptive clinician behavior. Strategies included compiling and distributing a toolkit that includes various programs and resources that senior leaders can use to set and enforce standards of professional conduct; developing institution-specific action plans for implementing toolkit components; and instituting patient safety leadership WalkRounds within system hospitals. The program enhanced staff perceptions of the culture of patient safety and improved professional conduct, including reducing incidents of disruptive behavior.
