2012 Syphilis Profiles Now Available
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sent this bulletin at 01/13/2014 11:30 AM ESTThe 2012 Syphilis Profiles provide an overview of syphilis morbidity in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The profiles consist of figures and tables of data on syphilis from the U.S. states and territories through 2012. Race/ethnicity data are now presented in Office of Management and Budget (OMB)-race and ethnic categories, according to the revised OMB standards; NCHS bridged-race categories are used where OMB categories are not available. Case report data are the foundation of STD surveillance systems, and are collected by state and local health departments.
