A year after 'the Michaels,' more women will take the JPM stage

We counted the Michaels of JPM again

You may recall one of the biggest stories of last year's J.P. Morgan: STAT's finding that men named Michael outnumbered female CEOs giving corporate presentations at the main conference.

We ran the numbers again this year. At JPM19, there will be more female CEOs presenting (33) than Michaels (19). All told, the number of female corporate presenters of any title who will take the JPM stage has also increased, to 55, up from 33 last year.

But there are some important caveats. Women will still be massively outnumbered overall on the JPM stage, where 90 percent of presenters over the week will be male. And among the conference's 12 scheduled panel or keynote sessions, three will be all-male, and another three will only include women as moderators or interviews.
