Stormy seas for biotech 2019?

Ready or not, it’s here. Rain, gusting winds, and even an Alaska Airlines power outage may have delayed travel to San Francisco, but hordes of biotech and health care industry executives are checking into their overpriced Union Square hotel rooms for four days of meetings, presentations, panels, dinners, and cocktail parties. Those January T&E reports will be something to behold.

In case you’re not quite prepared for JPM Week, Adam Feuerstein has put together a handy cheat sheet of burning questions for the biotechs presenting at this week’s main show: The J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference.

And if you’re taking the stage at JP Morgan’s investor confab, PR man Mike Huckman offers some tips on what not to say. Avoid biotech buzzword overload. Ditch the jargon. Your “robust pipeline” of “transformational” “game-changing” drugs offering “multiple shots on goal” will only make eyes roll.

Feeling put out by spending $700 per night on a cramped hotel room with scratchy towels and a view of an alley dumpster? There is a movement for you. It’s called SFrexit.
