Submit Applications by Feb. 28 for American Board of Internal Medicine Competition on Building Trust in Healthcare

The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Foundation has launched the Trust Practice Challenge, a competition among organizations to cite initiatives – or “practices” – that have built and maintained trust in healthcare. The competition is intended to support the ABIM Foundation’s commitment to improving care by strengthening medical professionalism. Submissions may vary, including interactions between clinicians and patients; among clinicians; between clinicians and health systems or hospitals; or between patients and health systems or hospitals. Examples of trust-building may include the disclosure of medical errors and subsequent apologies, guarantees of quality service levels, or endorsements of clinicians during care transitions. Winning entries will be added to a compendium of strategies to foster trust and will be presented at the ABIM Foundation’s annual forum in August. Access additional details about the challenge, the entry form and registration for informational webinars on Feb. 13 and Feb. 20. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 28.
