Washington state's biotech cluster, by the numbers

The number of life sciences jobs in Washington state increased by 13 percent between 2014 and 2017. All told, the state now has more than 1,144 companies and research institutions working in the space. The numbers come from a new report from the trade group Life Science Washington, and they reflect a noticeable upswing in a once sleepy local sector, the Seattle Times reports.
