When safety climate is not enough: examining the moderating effects of psychosocial hazards on nurse safety performance.
Prior research has shown that a positive safety culture is linked to improved outcomes. In this cross-sectional survey study involving nurses, researchers found a positive association between a strong safety climate and behaviors taken by nurses to promote safety. Perceptions of high levels of stressors in the work environment weakened this association.
