Biogen is not discouraged by your skepticism
Ever since Biogen announced it would resurrect its Alzheimer’s drug and submit it for approval to the FDA, there has been … some skepticism. But the company's chief medical officer left little doubt yesterday about his confidence in the therapy.
“I believe the drug works,” said Al Sandrock, speaking at the STAT Summit in Cambridge, Mass. “I’m very excited about the prospect of getting the drug approved.”
Sandrock shrugged off the skepticism — and he came close to daring the FDA to approve it. A rejection would mean “lots more people” would get Alzheimer’s without a drug to help them. “It’s in their hands now,” Sandrock said of the FDA.
