NIST is organizing a workshop focused on Interoperability of Web Computational Plugins for Large Microscopy Image Analyses on December 5-6, 2019, at NIST Gaithersburg, MD.
The focus of the workshop is on the topics of software containerization and building manifests describing I/O of containerized image analytics software.
The workshop is divided into parts that will cover the bio-medical microscopy community needs, the existing solutions, and the funding mechanisms that would contribute to advancements of imaging science over large image collections. In general, Day 1 is devoted to breadth and Day 2 to depth of solving the problem of inter-operable plugins that can process TB-sized image collections in a computer cloud. The invited speakers represent several funding agencies (NCATS NIH, NCI NIH, NSF, CDRH FDA, NIST, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative), and non-profit and for-profit organizations working with large collections of microscopy images (NCSA UIUC, UCSB, University of Wisconsin at Madison, University of Cardiff (Whales), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), University of Bristol (UK), Janelia Research Farm, Allen Institute for Cell Science, and Zeiss). We anticipate contributions from microscopy vendors, cloud providers, microscopy users and web solution builders.
Please register by November 24, 2019. The registration fee is $120.00.
