We'll miss you, Bradley

We lost one of our dear biotech friends unexpectedly this week. Bradley J. Fikes, the biotech reporter for the San Diego Union-Tribune, has died.

We’ll miss his singular passion for science, his excellent journalism, his humor, and his kindness.

“I always prepped scientists who were meeting him for the first time not to be fooled by the red suspenders and taped glasses,” Chris Emery, communications director at Scripps Research in La Jolla, said of Fikes in a touching Union-Tribune obituary. “Bradley is the most legit science reporter you’ll encounter.”
